Financial Services

The Financial Service Department is committed to providing fiscally responsible management, appropriate internal control and cooperative guidance to City Staff, the City Commission, and the Citizens of Longwood.

The Financial Services Department is comprised of three (3) divisions: Finance, Purchasing, and Utility Billing. These divisions are responsible for managing the City’s resources in an effective and efficient manner.
 

In addition, the department coordinates preparation of the Annual Budget, monitors budget compliance, coordinates the annual audit conducted by an external independent audit firm.

In accordance with F.S. 200.065, the City must hold two public hearings on their proposed annual budgets. Public Hearings for the adoption of the FY 2022 Budget will be held in the Commission Chambers at City Hall during the following City Commission Meetings:

  • FIRST PUBLIC HEARING: Thursday, September 9, 2021, 6:00 pm
  • SECOND PUBLIC HEARING: Monday, September 20, 2021, 6:00 pm
