Visiting
The State of Florida is world-renowned for its tourism industry. In 2005 alone, 83.6 million people visited the State. Not surprisingly this generated $62 billion in tourism spending amounting to $3.7 billion in State Sales Tax revenue and 948,700 jobs directly related to the Tourism Industry. City Recognition
In 2014 the City received recognition from WJXT Channel 4, an independent television station in Jacksonville, as one of the 4 safest places to raise a family in Florida. Most recently Bestplaces.net named Longwood as one of the top 10 best places to live in Florida.
Nearby Attractions
It just so happens that Longwood is in the heart of the State of Florida and just a short drive away from what is very likely one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world, the Orlando Metro Area. This area includes such world-class theme park destinations as Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Volcano Bay, and many more, though it does not stop there. The attractive beaches of the Atlantic Coast are under an hour away. There are at least 10 golf courses within 15 miles of the City. Natural lands and trails abound offering hiking, biking, camping, fishing, and many other outdoor activities. This is just a taste of what the City of Longwood has to offer for visitors and residents alike.
