Welcome to Longwood Memorial Gardens, a municipal cemetery owned and operated by the City. Established in 1957, Longwood Memorial Gardens is a 5-acre oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Longwood.

Landscaping

Currently, the City of Longwood is in the process of updating the landscaping in Longwood Memorial Gardens and it will feature live oaks, southern red cedar trees, crepe myrtle trees, and Washington's palms. Recently a water feature and Columbaria were added to the cemetery.

In the future, the City of Longwood is looking at adding such features as a Scatter Garden, Boulder Estates, and additional shrubbery.

Under Direction of City Clerk

The cemetery operations are directed by the City Clerk, as provided for in City Code Chapter 26, Cemetery. The Longwood Memorial Gardens driveway is open from 8 a.m. until sunset, unless otherwise posted, Monday through Sunday. A walk-through gate provides daytime access only.

A document of ownership to the lot(s) will be provided to the purchaser upon payment in full. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to jointly execute documents of conveyance on behalf of the city to the purchaser(s) of the lot(s)/space(s) within the cemetery upon payment in full.

Location

Longwood Memorial Gardens is located off of State Road 434 at 929 Grant Street, immediately north after the intersection of Rosedale Avenue. The Office of the City Clerk is the cemetery office and persons desiring to purchase a lot shall do so at the Office of the City Clerk. The City Clerk's Office is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and located at 175 W Warren Avenue. The telephone number for the City Clerk's Office is 407-260-3441.

Plus the cost to purchase a standard in-ground cremation burial lot, not to exceed six cremation lots, for each standard in-ground burial lot purchased.

Marking Fee

A marking fee of $20 will be charged to mark a gravesite or columbarium niche for any purpose except for marking the location of monuments or markers to be installed. Stakes marking a designated location will remain in place for up to 48 hours following the requested time and date for installation. Should re-staking (or re-marking) be required, an additional $20 fee will be charged.
